Shang Pin: A Sincere Offering from the High Mountains
Since its establishment in 1987, Fu Jin Tea has upheld a core philosophy: “A sincere heart, for an exceptional tea.” The 2023 “Shang Pin” Green Cake perfectly encapsulates this belief. We selected leaves from ecological, old-growth tea gardens in the core production area of Menghai, Yunnan, using only the most tender, nutrient-rich spring leaves from the large-leaf varietal. Through traditional, time-honored hand-processing techniques, we have preserved the tea’s authentic “mountain-grown character” (shānyě qìyùn), delivering a pure and robust tasting experience.
Tasting Notes: A Journey Through a Complex Flavor Map
Dry Leaf: The cake is beautifully round and well-compressed, with stout, clearly defined strips of dark green tea, dotted with silvery buds.
Liquor: The brewed liquor is a brilliant, golden-yellow, crystal clear with an uplifting aroma.
Flavor & Mouthfeel:
-
First Infusions (1-3): A fresh and fragrant aroma immediately fills the mouth, carried by a distinct honey-like sweetness (Mìyùn)(蜜韵).
-
Middle Infusions (4-7): The Mìyùn becomes remarkably long-lasting and clear. The returning sweetness (Huí gān) is swift and prominent.
-
Final Infusions (8-12): The aroma transitions to a calmer, woody character, while the texture becomes exceptionally soft and smooth.
Wet Leaf (叶底): The brewed leaves are stout, supple, and vibrant, a clear testament to the high-quality raw material.
